My Testimony

I know, without a doubt in my mind, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church upon the Earth today. I know that it is Christ's church, restored through Joseph Smith in these latter-days, and it is the same church that was found when Christ was on the Earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. I know that if I follow the Gospel and Jesus Christ, I can be with my family forever.

I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and it is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power and grace of God. I know that the words written in that precious book are true, and that the events described therein did happen. In Moroni 10:4-5, it states: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I know that if we ask for ourselves whether or not the Book of Mormon is true and follow this promise given in Moroni, that the Lord will touch our hearts, and the Holy Ghost will bear record of its truthfulness.

I know that the Lord still speaks to those with authority today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God, that he is the only man who can exercise all of the priesthood keys and receive revelation to lead and guide the church. I know that the other apostles are called of God, called to declare the Gospel to all the world, and that they too hold special priesthood keys. I know that they speak the word of God, and that what they say is just as important as the scriptures. I love President Monson and I sustain him and the other general authorities as men of God and as leaders of this church.

Last, but not least, I testify with my whole heart and soul that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Savior and Redeemer of the World. I know that He is the Son of God, and that through Him, we can obtain eternal life with our Father in Heaven. I know that He was chosen to atone for my sins, and for the sins of the world, and that He did so willingly because of the immense love that He has for each of us. I know that He paid the price for our sins, and if we repent, we can become clean and worthy to be with God again. I know that He has felt every pain, sorrow and grief that we will ever have to bear, and I know that because of this, we never have to walk alone. I know that through trials and hardships, He is with us every step of the way, and that He understands exactly what we are going through, because He's been there. He is the greatest example we will ever have, of charity, hope, patience and service. I know that if we follow His example, we will become more like God, which is what this life is all about. I know that He died on Calvary, but that three days later, He rose again as the Resurrected Lord. I know that His way is the only way back to our Heavenly Father. And I love Him, for He is my most trusted friend and my Savior. And I bear witness of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
